Alison and Greta has a one-year photography project that we’re all participating in – in hopes of improving and sharing “non-cameraphone” photography skills. #ThroughTheLensThursday motivates us to take out our DSLRs and capture better pictures.
This week, I’ve been at my mom’s due to back pain, and I forgot my DSLR at home. I was very tempted to use my Galaxy S3′s camera, but I didn’t. So I reached for the next non-cameraphone alternative – my mom’s “point-and-shoot” NIKON CoolPix L105. Of course, as soon as I started walking around with the camera, my two girls wanted to do it too.
I thought, “Why not? It’ll be interesting to see what they see.” So to the 9 year old, I gave my mom’s smaller SONY CyberShot. And to the 4 year old, I handed her “Little Red” (my CANON PowerShot ELPH 300HS). I said, “find WHITE things and shoot!”
IT WAS REALLY FUN!
