3 Perspectives: Through the Lens – White

through the lens buttonAlison and Greta has a one-year photography project that we’re all participating in – in hopes of improving and sharing “non-cameraphone” photography skills.  #ThroughTheLensThursday motivates us to take out our DSLRs and capture better pictures.

This week, I’ve been at my mom’s due to back pain, and I forgot my DSLR at home.  I was very tempted to use my Galaxy S3′s camera, but I didn’t.  So I reached for the next non-cameraphone alternative – my mom’s “point-and-shoot” NIKON CoolPix L105.  Of course, as soon as I started walking around with the camera, my two girls wanted to do it too.

I thought, “Why not?  It’ll be interesting to see what they see.”  So to the 9 year old, I gave my mom’s smaller SONY CyberShot.  And to the 4 year old, I handed her “Little Red” (my CANON PowerShot ELPH 300HS).  I said, “find WHITE things and shoot!”

IT WAS REALLY FUN!

All the pics below are unedited, but the collages wre made on PicMonkey.  ENJOY!

I like the shoes in yours. It’s not perfectly white, but the white stands out, you know what I mean?

    • Thanks, Alison. The girls did have fun. And I like the shoes too. It was just a little tricky finding the right interesting angle. Can’t wait for next week!

  3. Wow! Giving it to the kids to play along too. I love that.
I’m a pro photographer but I don’t really critique very often! Who am I to judge someone else’s vision? I think they’re all lovely to look at together. And apart.

and I don’t know why, but the 4 year old shot of the white shoes on the ground just speaks to me for some reason. perhaps it reminds me of my own in summer.
