Travel Games For Your 4th of July Road Trip – Free Printables!

The 4th of July is upon us.  I feel like summer barely started and it’s already July!

Some people will opt to stay home and do the traditional backyard BBQ.  (That’ll be us!)  We’ll just watch the fireworks on TV, thanks!

Others will join the community and park themselves at the local park (pun intended) and watch the fireworks, right above their heads.

And other braver families will choose to make the drive to wherever, to be with other families, to watch a grander fireworks show, or simply to get away from it all for the weekend.

If you’re one of the braves, chances are, you know you’ll need something to keep the kids occupied in the car on the way to your desired destination!  How else will you keep that happy thought until fireworks time?

Luckily, that’s the easy part!  (The driving and the traffic, not so much. Sorry.)

All you need are some Travel Games to Play in the Car during your long (or short) road trip.

Try these FREE printables from InsureMyRentalCar.com!

I gave them to my girls during a recent road trip we had.  I’m telling you, it was one of the best car rides ever.  There was no fighting in the back seat!  Only giggles and laughter.  Seriously.

There are 6 Games for your kids to enjoy:

1. CAR BINGO – Players need to be on the lookout out for the images on the bingo cards. First one to find four in a row or four in a column wins, simple as that!

2. THE ALPHABET GAME – Be on the lookout for objects and places out the window, beginning with different letters of the alphabet, and note them down on the sheet. The player who completes the sheet first is the winner!

3.  CONSEQUENCE – (This was my girls’ favorite!) Players take turns drawing a section of a person/creature’s body, folding the page as they go. Once completed, unfold the paper to reveal their creation!

4.  CAR SEARCH – Be on the lookout for as many car manufacturers as you can & match them to the manufacturer’s logos on the sheet. The player who collects the most of one car type or cross off all the logos on the sheet wins.

5.  TRAFFIC JAM – This game is a simple race to the finish. Each player starts by coloring the cars on their sheet different colours of their choice. Then, when they see a car matching the next colored car in their sequence, they move a step closer to the finish line.

6.  NUMBER PLATE GAME (Plate Hunt) – This game requires a keen eye! The player’s job is to spot as many number plates from the different States as possible. The person who finds the most is crowned champion!

All sounds like fun, right?  And waaaayyyy more than enough to keep them occupied until you say, “Yes, we’re here!”

Truly.  A few minutes printing these babies out can mean (almost) a lifetime of happy car trips!

Download a couple or Download them all.  These printable games are sure to bring fun into your next car ride.

*Disclaimer:  In return for this review, I received a car pack to facilitate this post – which included printouts of the car games, plus some bonuses – a box of crayons, a pen, a clipboard, and a Disney Junior music CD.  All opinions are my own.

*P.S.  We didn’t listen to the Disney Junior CD in the car because that would be quite a torture for my husband.  He wouldn’t have lasted past the third song.  So, the children and I listened to it at home, when my husband was at work.  The kids loved it – especially because they got to dance along with it!

TELL ME, WHERE WILL YOU BE CELEBRATING THIS COMING 4TH OF JULY?  HOME OR SOMEWHERE ELSE?  OR BOTH?
